Meet Our Team
At The Collective Jiu Jitsu Club, our instructors are more than accomplished martial artists—they’re mentors committed to helping every student grow with confidence, discipline, and purpose. Whether it’s a child’s first class or an experienced competitor’s next challenge, our team is here to support every step of the journey.
Our coaching team brings decades of combined teaching experience and has helped thousands of students—from first-time beginners to seasoned competitors—build confidence on and off the mats.
Professor Ray Morrow
Head Instructor & Co-Founder
Prof. Ray is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Prof. Otavio Sousa and Prof. Scott Carr. Born in Southern California and later raised in Idaho, he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1999. In 2008, he returned to Southern California to immerse himself in full-time training and begin his journey as an instructor.
Over the years, Ray competed internationally, taught students of all ages and experience levels, and helped develop instructors while working at Gracie Barra Headquarters in Irvine, California. His experience gave him the opportunity to learn from some of the most respected names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including Master Carlos Gracie Jr., Marcio Feitosa, Flavio Almeida, Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes, Braulio Estima, and, of course, his professors, Otavio Sousa and Scott Carr.
Today, Ray is the co-founder and head instructor of The Collective Jiu Jitsu Club, where his passion is helping people become stronger—not just on the mats, but in every area of life. Whether teaching a child’s first class or coaching experienced competitors, he believes great instruction is built on patience, consistency, and genuine relationships.
His mission is simple: create a welcoming academy where every student has a clear path to grow in skill, confidence, discipline, and character while becoming part of a community that feels like home.
From your first class to earning your black belt, our coaches are committed to helping you grow every step of the way.
Your journey starts with one class.
