Your first time on the mats

What to Expect.

You don’t need to know the moves or have everything figured out. Come ready to learn—we’ll help you get started.

Meet the Professor & Coaches

Arrive 10–15 minutes early to meet the Professor and coaches. We’ll welcome you, show you around, and help you get ready for class.

Here’s how a typical Jiu-Jitsu class flows:

01

Quick Warm-Up

Start with a short warm-up to get moving and ready to learn.

02

Technique Demonstration

The Professor or a coach demonstrates the technique and breaks it down into clear steps, so you know what to focus on.

03

Partner Drilling

Practice the technique with a partner while the Professor and coaches offer guidance and answer questions. Take your time—you’re here to learn.

04

Live Situational Training

Apply the technique you just learned through live practice from a specific position. You’ll be paired with a higher belt who can assist and guide you. You set the pace, with support every step of the way.

After class, tell us how it felt. We’ll help you find the program and training routine that fit your goals.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring water and sandals for walking off the mats. For No Gi Jiu-Jitsu, a fitted athletic top with shorts or leggings works well for your first visit. If you booked a Gi class, arrive early so we can help with uniform fitting. For Muay Thai gear questions, call or text us before class. Remove jewelry and keep your nails short.

Do I need experience or to be in shape?

No prior experience is needed. You’ll build fitness and familiarity as you train. Let your coach know you’re new and take breaks when you need them.

What if I’m nervous—or my child is shy?

That’s a normal way to feel when trying something new. Let us know when you arrive so your coach can help you or your child get comfortable. The first visit is a chance to meet the team and experience the class.

What do I need to do before arriving?

Book your class and date above, then check your email for your confirmation and waiver. Sign the waiver before class and plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early. We’re at 5681 N Glenwood St, Garden City, ID 83714.

How often should I train when I’m starting?

Start with a schedule you can keep consistently. Talk with your coach about your goals, availability, and how you feel after class—we’ll help you find a sustainable routine. Everyone learns at a different pace.

Still have a question? Text us at (208) 488-4599.

Nervous? That’s Completely Normal. Most of our students started with no experience. We’ll guide you from the moment you walk in.
